It seems to have been determined since
the police commission of 1886 [4 10535 86] to get rid of the adjutant and restore the Deputy Superintendent. The governor coas
told on 891 83 to mate the appointment
891-84 Carefully told on provisional and temporary so that presumably Capt. Dempster can be remorted at will. A reference to 9452.87 will show that Sir W. Marsh would have preferred a caret for the post; I think however M. Horshool has earned the promotion; and moreover a cadet would probably expect and perhaps
receive a higher salary.
